Here are some questions I'm frequently asked in the store or when I'm out training dogs:

Q: Should dogs eat the same food for their whole lives?
A: Like humans, dogs do best on a varied diet.  Go to this link to an article about how best to feed your dog if you're feeding commercially prepared foods:  http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/how-often-should-i-change-foods.html
A.  This is actually a pretty silly question, especially since so many dog food companies are proclaiming that their food is "human" grade.  Also, pet food wasn't around 50 years ago.  I think what people are really concerned with is keeping their dogs' diets "balanced".   Of course, we humans somehow manage to have healthy diets without resorting to a pre-made, all inclusive food.  If we are health-conscious, we balance our diet over the course of many meals.  The same can be done with our pets.  Our pets thrive on a varied diet, which can be greatly enhanced by feeding them our healthy leftovers.  This link is to a pretty good list for foods and other substances to be avoided:
Q.  How can I rate the food my dog is eating now?
A.  This website has a fun way to rate the food you're currently feeding:http://www.rotts-n-notts.com/info/display?PageID=2549.
All the food in the store rates a B or better
Q.  Does microchipping really work?  Should I microchip my dog?
