DARIO ORTEGA, THE FABULOUS AND GENTLE GROOMER, COMES IN ON SUNDAYS, TUESDAYS, THURSDAYS AND FRIDAYS.  APPOINTMENTS ARE FROM 1PM ON.

Sometimes you can get an appointment the same day, but it is best to book in advance.  Sundays are particularly busy.

Grooming rates are based on size, condition and behavior of your pet, and what kind of cut is wanted.   Hit the Grooming Prices tab for a full breakdown.

You can bring your pet in anytime the groomer is here, if you just want his nails clipped.   The cost is $10 for dogs under 50 pounds, $15 for dog over 50 pounds or for cats.   For all other grooming services, please make an appointment.  It's best to call ahead, to make sure a groomer is here.

We are committed to making the grooming experience personal, and try our best to minimize your pet's stress level.  We do not do cage drying.  We do not keep dogs or cats crated for hours.  If your dog is housetrained, he will generally not be crated.  When possible, we give your pets breaks to minimize their stress level.    People often come to us after having had a bad experience with other groomers, and are quite relieved to have their pets returned relatively happy and calm.

It's important that owners understand that:

  1.  Grooming is a stressful and potentially dangerous procedure because pets move around when groomers are using sharp instruments
  2.  Pets HATE to be groomed.  It is not a fun "spa" day for them.
  3.  Pets whose coats have been neglected can have hot spots or other irritatations.  Matted coats make grooming difficult.   Even when shaving a pet down, there is always the possibility of nicks and cuts while grooming.
  4.  Pets who have had bad experiences with other groomers tend to be even more stressed, and can be aggressive and terrified
  5.  Our goal is to make your pet look good in as unstressful a way as possible.  If we feel your pet is getting stressed, we will periodically give him 5 or 10 minute breathers.
